There have been numerous complaints and criticism of Donald Trump’s leadership style. When he criticizes his staff publicly they say this is bad for staff morale. When there is continuous turnover on his staff people say that this impairs staff unity and makes continuity difficult. They say he can’t get anything done because of this revolving door of personnel. He’s a dictator, a tyrant, and he intimidates the press.
Hmmm, this sounds like someone else I know. Remember when Nick Saban verbally assaulted Lane Kiffin on the sideline during a nationally televised game? After the game, when asked by the media about the discussion he had with Coach Kiffin on the sideline he replied, “It wasn’t a discussion, it was an $%* chewing!!” So much for staff morale. And don’t think for a minute that this was the only coach or player that has caught his wrath on the sideline…all captured by TV cameras on national television.
Going into his 12th year at the University of Alabama, he has had to replace seven offensive coordinators and four defensive coordinators..and numerous assistant coaches. Man, has this really affected his productivity?!
How about 5 National Championships in 9 years. Surely Nick Saban wouldn’t intimidate the press? Just watch his reaction when the press asked him a question that he feels is ridiculous. Shoot, he has the press so intimidated, if he were to call them “fake news”, they would say, Thank You.
I don’t know about you, but there seems to be some similarities between their leadership styles. This style is not for everyone, but it sure works for these two.
